Earlier this month, SMP Chairman and CEO Larry Sills received the AWDA’s prestigious “Jack Creamer Leader of the Year” award, renamed in honor of the late Jack Creamer. Now, Sills has been appointed to the University of the Aftermarket Foundation’s Board of Trustees.
For some background info, the AWDA established a lifetime trustee seat on the University of the Aftermarket’s Boards of Trustees in Creamer’s memory. The association then decided to appoint the reigning “Jack Creamer Leader of the Year” award recipient to fill the seat.
Sills, who is set to assume a new role as SMP Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors this spring, will serve a one-year term on the University of the Aftermarket Foundation’s Board of Trustees.
Commenting on Sills’ appointment, Tim Lee, Chairman of the University of the Aftermarket Foundation, said, “The University of the Aftermarket Foundation congratulates Larry on his well-deserved award and welcomes him to our board of trustees. Larry’s knowledge, passion and commitment to the auto care industry are well known and I’m sure Jack would be pleased to know that Larry will be part of an organization that meant so much to him.”
