SMP Supports Local Healthcare Heroes

If there was ever a time for SMP to step up and lend support, now is that time. On behalf of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team, in the midst of very difficult circumstances for all, we would like to share some positive news with you. Standard Motor Products (SMP) expressed our support and gratitude to each healthcare worker for the work they are doing every day to combat COVID-19 in our local Long Island City neighborhood.

Many companies and restaurants have been donating pizzas, lunches, snacks, etc to local hospital employees. While reaching out to area hospitals, we were able to make contact with Mount Sinai’s key personnel in Astoria. They are opening a free snack bar for all employees and were excited about the opportunity for local support and funding, so the timing was perfect.

We are pleased to share that SMP has donated $1,000 of healthy snacks to this effort.

This is a great gesture of support to our healthcare workers and employees of Mount Sinai, who are extremely critical in fighting this fight on the front lines. We were able to set deliveries with Walmart.com, and each week in the month of April Mount Sinai will receive a delivery of items.

Our hospitals and healthcare workers are here for us, and we’re here for them too.
